Position Title:
Registered Nurse (RN)
Reports To:
Administrator / Clinical Director
Position Summary
The Registered Nurse (RN) at Delight Senior Support Services is responsible for delivering compassionate, high-quality nursing services to seniors in their homes. The RN ensures that client care is provided in accordance with Virginia Department of Health regulations, professional nursing standards, and the agency’s mission of affordable, compassionate care.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments and develop individualized care plans.
Provide skilled nursing services, including medication administration, wound care, and monitoring of vital signs.
Coordinate with physicians, families, and other healthcare providers to ensure continuity of care.
Supervise and guide caregivers and licensed practical nurses (LPNs) in the delivery of client care.
Educate clients and families on disease management, medication use, and healthy living practices.
Maintain accurate documentation of all client encounters and care provided.
Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations, agency policies, and professional standards of nursing practice.
Participate in quality improvement and infection control programs.
Respond to client emergencies and provide appropriate interventions.
Qualifications
Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) accepted with experience.
Minimum of 1–2 years of nursing experience, preferably in home health, geriatric care, or community health.
Strong assessment, critical thinking, and organizational skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Ability to work independently and as part of a care team.
Current CPR and First Aid certification.
Work Environment
In-home client care (50% travel required within Northern Virginia). Flexible schedule; may include evenings, weekends, and on-call shifts.
